Welcome to the Child Safe Child Friendly course for FDCA Educator Members.
This professional learning and self assessment tool has been funded by Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) and was developed in partnership with DelRoy Consulting.
This professional learning and critical reflection resource is specifically designed for family day care educators. It provides information and tools to assist educators to keep children safe.
The resource has been carefully designed to ensure it aligns with the relevant legislation, the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework and best practice in relation to all aspects of child safety.
Once complete, educators will have a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the many facets of child safety and will be more competent and confident in their practice.

Educator Self-Assessment: Child’s Perspective

The Educator Self-Assessment: Child’s Perspective tool is a suite of statements stated from the perspective of the children in your care. It is designed to guide educators to assess their current practice with regard to aspects of a Child Safe Child Friendly service and to better understand the strengths and vulnerabilities of each child in their care. If we can build on the strengths of children and as a result, reduce their vulnerability, we have more chance of fulfilling our duty to keep them safe.
