Self-Assessment: Competence and Confidence Topic – 1

There are several factors to consider when implementing a Child Safe Child Friendly environment.  Some factors are in the control of educators and others are out of their control. The primary factor educators can control is their own knowledge, confidence and competence in keeping children safe.  What they know, how well they know it, and how comfortable they are in their practice.

The ‘Educator Self-Assessment: Confidence and Competence’ tool is a simple self assessment tool designed to measure confidence and competence from the perspective of the educator following completion of the Child Safe Child Friendly Professional Learning Practice Guides. This is a valuable tool to assist educators to monitor, reflect on and develop their skills and to also identify training needs.
